Build the Platform That Runs Self-Storage.

Tenant Inc. is the operator-built, AI-enabled platform for independent self-storage. We hire deliberately — for the right person in each role, not a headcount target.

Most SaaS companies serve a general market. Tenant Inc. serves one vertical — self-storage — and has built every product specifically for that domain. That depth creates a different kind of work environment than a horizontal platform.

The people funding the company use the product.

Tenant Inc. is funded by more than 200 self-storage operators. The investors are the customers. That alignment removes the tension between what investors want and what operators actually need — they are the same conversation. Every product decision is grounded in the real operational problems of facilities that depend on the platform to run.

Full Story

Vertical SaaS at the right stage.

Tenant Inc. exists because the industry needed it to. Lance Watkins built Storelocal first — a cooperative to help independent operators compete as the market consolidated. When the technology demands outgrew what was available, and a major software provider moved to restrict how operators could run their own businesses, the answer was to build a better platform. Tenant Inc. was that answer. In 2023, Storelocal and Tenant Inc. merged — bringing the community and the technology together as one offering.

The combined organization now operates across 1,500+ facilities in three countries, with more than 140 employees across Irvine and India. The platform is established and consequential, but the work of building it is far from finished.

Irvine, California — and India.

The company's primary office is in Irvine at 5281 California Ave., Suite 320 — in the heart of Orange County's technology corridor. A second team is based in India, supporting engineering and operations. With more than 140 employees across both locations, the organization has the infrastructure of a scaled SaaS company while remaining focused on a single vertical. The Irvine office is where product, engineering, marketing, and customer success work alongside each other with direct access to the operators who use the platform.

Compensation and benefits.

Competitive compensation, comprehensive health coverage, and a 401(k) plan. Specific details are provided during the hiring process for each role.

Tenant Inc. hires when the right person exists for a role — not on a fixed schedule. The positions below are active. If you do not see a current opening that fits your background, see the section at the bottom of this page.

Product

Product Manager — Reports & Business Intelligence

Irvine, CA | Full Time

Tenant Inc. is building a serious data layer. The Tenant Data Warehouse unifies operational, web analytics, and reputation data across operator portfolios — and the reporting and business intelligence surface of that product is where operators make the decisions that affect their NOI. This role owns the product requirements for that surface: understanding what operators need to see, how to structure it, and how to work with engineering to ship it well. The right candidate is comfortable in data visualization tools, fluent in SQL, and able to translate operator business problems into clear product requirements.

What the role involves

  • Gather, organize, and map business requirements for reporting and BI capabilities within the Tenant Inc. SaaS platform and payments infrastructure
  • Use Tableau and Power BI for data visualization and dashboard creation
  • Perform gap analysis and A/B testing to identify and prioritize product improvements
  • Apply SQL to manage and optimize transactional operations
  • Recommend SaaS product development best practices across the reporting surface

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 1 year of experience in the duties described above
  • Hands-on experience with Tableau, Power BI, and SQL

Salary: $125,000 — $140,000 per year

Product engineering

Senior Manager of Product

Irvine, CA | Full Time

This role sits at the intersection of product and engineering — owning the execution layer that turns requirements into shipped software. You will oversee Scrum teams building and releasing B2B SaaS products and the supporting ERP and payments platform, define the metrics that track engineering execution from requirements through delivery, and drive the quality and release processes that keep the platform reliable for the operators depending on it. The right candidate has managed cross-functional product and engineering teams, understands how to build systems that scale, and cares as much about how software gets shipped as what gets shipped.

What the role involves

  • Oversee product development and Scrum teams engaged in the design, development, and release of B2B SaaS products and the supporting ERP and payments platform
  • Define metrics for engineering execution from requirements analysis through final delivery
  • Coordinate system architecture decisions across product and engineering
  • Improve testing and quality control procedures
  • Execute and manage product release schedules

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Management, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 1 year of experience in the duties described above
  • Experience managing Scrum teams in a B2B SaaS environment

Salary: $165,000 — $175,000 per year

Get started

Tenant Inc. hires for fit, not for headcount. If your background is in SaaS product, engineering, growth, marketing, or customer success — and the company and the work described on this page are a genuine match for where you want to be — send a note to hr@tenantinc.com with your background and what you are looking for. We keep a record of strong candidates and reach out when a relevant role opens.

This is not a general application form. If you are reaching out, be specific: what you have built, what kind of role you are looking for, and why Tenant Inc. specifically. That context is what makes the difference between a note that gets filed and one that gets a response.
