Tenant Inc., provider of the self-storage industry’s leading all-in-one technology platform, today announced the appointment of Alex Maghen as its new Chief Technology Officer. Maghen, a seasoned technology leader with a deep background in building world-class consumer digital products, will lead the company’s global engineering, product, and user experience teams.

Maghen brings a wealth of experience from his time in senior technology roles at some of the world’s most recognized digital brands, including serving as EVP of Technology and Consumer Digital at Warner Bros., founding CTO at Grindr, and CTO at MTV Networks. His appointment signals a doubling down on Tenant Inc.'s commitment to providing the most advanced, operator-focused technology in the self-storage industry.

“We are building a world-class software company, and that requires world-class product leadership,” said Lance Watkins, CEO of Tenant Inc. “Alex has a rare and valuable background. He has led technology teams at the highest level, building products used by millions across the globe. That expertise is precisely what the self-storage industry needs—a relentless focus on the end-user experience, for both the operator and the tenant. He will be instrumental in scaling our platform and keeping our partners on the leading edge.”

Throughout his career, Maghen has been recognized for his ability to translate complex technology into intuitive, high-performance digital products. He will apply that same disciplined, user-centric approach to Tenant Inc.'s product roadmap.

“Tenant Inc. has already earned its position as an industry leader by building a platform that solves the real-world problems operators face every day,” said Maghen. “I’m here to build on that incredible foundation. My role is to implement the product development frameworks that will allow us to deliver even more value to our partners, faster and more predictably than ever before. We will accelerate our pace of innovation while ensuring the stability and performance our operators depend on to run their businesses.”

Maghen elaborated on his personal motivation for joining the company, citing the powerful and purpose-driven nature of the self-storage industry.

“What drew me to Tenant Inc. was the massive opportunity to build world-class technology for an industry that is not only foundational to the economy, but is also fundamentally human,” Maghen added. “At its core, Tenant Inc. is about enabling success—for the entrepreneurs who build these businesses and for the tenants they serve. That powerful mission is what makes this opportunity so compelling. There is a huge appetite for modern, intuitive technology in this space, and I'm incredibly excited to jump in and help build tools that will have a real, measurable impact.”
